And so arises the need for a good GMAT Coaching Institute in Chandigarh for students who wish to sit in classrooms where legends once read.

What is GMAT?

GMAT or Graduate Management Aptitude Test is a standardised test that is taken by several students across the globe to get into the best business schools for the best Management programs like MBA and MIM. The test has a unique structure that tests an individuals aptitude on various parameters like analytical writing, quantitative, verbal, and reading skills in written English for use in admission to a graduate management program. The GMAT is a CAT (Computer Adaptive Test) that involves rigorous testing of aspiring management students on the subjects like geometry, algebra, arithmetic, English grammar, logical and critical reasoning skills. The test involves areas like problem solving and data sufficiency in the mathematics section. The GMAT is quite a unique test as the difficulty of the verbal and quantitative questions in the exam are determined on the basis of the response to the previous questions. For every question answered correctly, the difficulty of the subsequent question rises and vice versa for every incorrect answer. This feature of this team is its adaptability to the exam taker. Over 2300 colleges and 7000 courses consider the GMAT Exam Score when they start their own admission processes.

The GMAT comprises of four sections; namely, an analytical writing assessment, an integrated reasoning section, a quantitative section, and a verbal section. The total time for the test is three hours and seven minutes. Test takers are given a total of 30 minutes for the analytical writing assessment, which includes a singular argument task. It provides another 30 minutes to complete 12 questions, which often have multiple parts on the integrated reasoning section. The quantitative section is to be attempted in 62 minutes to work through 31 questions while 65 minutes are provided to get through 36 questions in the verbal section.

`

Section Duration in minutes Number of questions
Analytical writing assessment 30 1 essay
Integrated reasoning 30 12
Quantitative 62 31
Verbal 65 36

All questions on the quantitative and verbal sections of the GMAT include multiple-choices and are administered in the computer-adaptive format, adjusting to a test taker’s level of ability. This process continues until test takers complete each section, at which point the computer will have an accurate assessment of their ability level in that subject area and come up with a raw score for each section.

There are Three options provided to the student for the sequence of the sections:

  • Analytical Writing Assessment, Integrated Reasoning, Quantitative, Verbal (original order)
  • Verbal, Quantitative, Integrated Reasoning, Analytical Writing Assessment
  • Quantitative, Verbal, Integrated Reasoning, Analytical Writing Assessment
